The leaves are small and glossy and new flushes of growth are pink to red in colour. The tree flowers in spring/summer followed by the fruit. The fruit has been enjoyed as a gourmet bushfood since the 1980’s. Fruit can be eaten straight from the tree or used in jam, sauces, syrups and confectionary.
