Archontophoenix Alexandrae
Archontophoenix Alexandrae commonly known as the Alexander Palm. Grows to about 10m. Prefers a full sun position that is well drained. Requires little maintenance. Will grow well in a pot or in the garden with regular watering and a little fertilizer.
Archontophoenix Cunninghamiana - Bangalow Palm
It is known as a Bangalow Palm and is an Australian palm. Its flower colour is violet and the red fruits are attractive to birds. It flowers in midsummer and has evergreen foliage. It can grow over 20m high.
Chamaedorea Elegans
Small and slender, elegant and slow growing palm. Lovely in a shady spot in a tropical garden. Plant in shaded or full sun position in well drained soil. Grows 2m high and 1.5m wide.
Chambeyronia Macrocarpa
Common Name: Red Leaf Palm or Flamethrower Palm Height: 30m Features: New fronds appear in a maroon or brilliant red colour. Thus the name flamethrower palm. A native to New Caledonia. Does prefer to grow in filtered sunlight but does tolerate full sun conditions when mature. It is self cleaning. A very attractive palm which would make a beautiful landscape feature.
Dypsis Cabadae
Dypsis Cabadae is commonly known as the Blue Cane. It belongs to the same family as the golden cane but is a much nicer, cleaner palm. Requires little maintenance. It doesn’t clump up as bushy as the golden cane and the large blue canes make quite a nice feature.
Dypsis Decaryi
Dypsis Decaryi commonly known as the Triangle Palm is a fairly quick grower which may eventually reach about 6m in height. They prefer full sun and will grow best in sandy soil. They prefer not to be over watered and like good drainage.
Dypsis Leptocheilos
Commonly known as the redneck palm or teddy palm, makes a great feature in any garden, with it’s red velvety crown shaft. Originating from Madagascar, it grows well in sub-tropical and tropical conditions. As it grows it develops prominent, attractive rings on it’s trunk which compliment it’s long graceful fronds. Grow well in most soil types in full sun or part shade. It is best to keep these palms in part shade until they reach about 1.5m in height. They will reach about 10-12m in height after many years.

Features: Originated in Madagascar. It grows to about 6m tall and is a clumping palm which is quite hardy. They grow best in full sun and grow in a wide range of soil types as long as they are well draining. They make great windbreaks and screening plants. They are quite attractive palms and may be used as a garden feature.
Hyophorbe Lagenicaulis
Hyophorbe Lagenicaulis is commonly known as the bottle palm. This palm only grows to about 3m tall and makes a great feature in any garden. Fertilize in early spring and they are very easy to grow as long as they have a fairly sunny position, good soil and are kept moist.

A very attractive palm commonly used as a feature in landscape projects. They may carry as many as 10 fronds at one time which appear to be somewhat erect and they have lightly re-curved pinnate leaves. They have a bulging trunk which tapers away at the top causing them to resemble a spindle.
Livistona Australis
This palm is native to Australia and may eventually grow to about 25m in height. It is wind, drought and salt tolerant and grows well in coastal areas.
Phoenix Roebelenii
The dwarf date palm which grows to about 3m tall. It is a slow grower which can tolerate cold conditions and is fairly pest resistant. It will grow in most soil types so long as they are well drained. Can be used indoors or outdoors, in shade or full sun.
